KCAT began self-publishing books in 2004 to acknowledge and promote the work of the artists and organisation. It produces publications about the artists, projects and activities of KCAT. An important part of the KCAT retrospectives has been to publish an artist book in conjunction to the show that presents the artists career further, with even more insights
into their practice through images, commissioned text and interviews.
As part with Declan Byrnes retrospective we are thrilled to present the latest publication in the series. This book highlights even more of Declan’s practice, artworks and career. It also features written contributions by colleagues and fellow artists Declan has worked with in the past. Texts by Declan Kennedy the KCAT studio co-ordinator, Rosie Lynch a curator and also co-director of Workhouse Union in Callan, and lastly a fellow artist and Engagement Project collaborator Alistair MacLennan, an artist based in Belfast.
